VBC – A CompuTec Cloud Case Study

Volumetric Building Companies (VBC), previously trading as Polcom Modular, is a manufacturer of modular buildings including hotels and residential buildings. They build entire hotel rooms complete with utility installations, furniture and décor in their factories. The completed hotel rooms are then shipped to the building site and inserted into a frame. This innovative construction method means that projects can be completed up to 50% faster than usual but the buildings have the same durability as with traditional construction methods. You can read more about VBC’s activities on their website: https://www.vbc.co

VBC is not only innovative due to their construction methods though. In seeking a new ERP system to support the business’s global growth, they went for a completely cloud-based deployment, a rarity in their industry. After careful consideration, they selected SAP Business One and the CompuTec Solution Suite deployed in CompuTec Cloud based on Microsoft Azure. The project went on to win several awards.

In our e-book, you can read an interview with Jan Szary, IT Manager for VBC, which describes their approach to finding a new ERP solution, the decision-making process, how the implementation went from their perspective and many other insights from the point of view of the manufacturer. It makes for really interesting reading for anyone thinking about not only a cloud-based deployment of SAP Business One, but for any business considering embarking on an ERP implementation. It gives some great insights into how the whole process looks from the inside.
